From Christmas parties to New Year gatherings, from late-night binging to a stress relaxer, wine is a must at almost every social event. But have you ever wondered what’s the perfect way of enjoying it?

Yep, don't be shocked! Different wines taste better when consumed in different ways. Say, for instance, red wine tastes yummy with chocolate and cheese whereas champagne goes exceptionally well with french fries. Now you might be wondering what's the secret to white wine. Does salty food complement it, or is it better with sweets? As it turns out, none of the above.

White wine tastes incredible when sipped at the right temperature!

The Secret to A Glass of Luscious White Wine

To enjoy white wine to the fullest, you must keep two things in mind - firstly, the glass you choose, and secondly, the temperature at which you sip the beverage.

Drinking white wine in any randomly shaped glass will impact its taste and won't satisfy your taste buds—according to Usual Wines, white wine must only be consumed out of glasses that have a "U-shaped bowl." Since white wines need less oxygen to release their aromatics, they taste much better in U-shaped bowl glasses. But the same formula doesn't apply to red wines, which require more aeration.

Moving on, the perfect temperature for a glass of luscious white wine lies somewhere between 50 and 60° Fahrenheit, meaning it should be chilled before being poured. According to VinePair, to get the temperature just right, you must put the bottle of white wine into the fridge as soon as you buy it. However, if you plan to consume it the same day you bought it, either leave it in the freezer for 30 minutes or put it in the fridge for a couple of hours if you have ample time on hand.

Another thing you should be careful of is to avoid putting the bottle in the refrigerator immediately after pouring wine from it. VinePair suggests wine bottles should be left out to sweat before keeping them back into the refrigerator. That way, you'll get a different taste every time you drink from that particular bottle.

Other Experts’ Suggestions

Wine Folly, a Seattle-based organization that informs people of the dos and don’ts with regards to wine through its playful articles, advises that white wine should be consumed at a temperature between 49 and 55° Fahrenheit. That just proves what VinePair says—that white wine tastes quite awesome when served chilled.

Now that you know the trick behind making white wine taste even more heavenly, are you ready to say cheers tonight?
